Microsoft Certified Trainer

My application to be an MCT has finally been approved. I had not forwarded my MCT assessment to the Microsoft Regional Service Centre (not that I was told I needed to do that when I applied….)

We have had a number of issues with the new training material and are in the process of documenting the issues and passing them back to Microsoft
We also had an issue in that a number of people sent on the initial courses were experienced in 3.0 and some had significant exposure to 4.0. These courses are for new people rather than upgrade/difference
    Installation and Deployment
This is now a 2 day course and is aimed at infratructure people rather than consultants. In 3.0 version of this course there were 4 chapters on Business Units, Security Roles, Users and Teams that is now in the Customisation and Configuration course.
There are not enough labs and the only installation lab is all on one server which taks only a short time. We built our own VPC images to allow for a multu-server installations.
    Customisation and Configuration
The first 4 chapters are around business units, users, teams and security roles. As this adds about 1 day other things have been removed, mainly Workflow. This caused problems with the students who were expecting this content. There is only a passing reference to Plugins which again students wanted more.
There are separate courses on Plugins and Workflow coming later this year.

There are a number of problems in the lab especially in Chapter 11 as the files supplied are for 3.0 not 4.0.
This is now one 3 day course raher than 4 x 1 day courses. The content is very similar to 3.0 but the Service Scheduling appears  to have been cut down and this is a pity. There is a lot of material to get through in 3 days not helped by large nunber of errors.
    What’s New in CRM 4.0
This is a one day course we have expanded to 2 or 3 days with more on installation scenarios, workflow and plugins.
